The Sydney Master of Management is a pre-experience program designed to provide you with the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to pursue a career in management within your chosen field.
Distinctive features include small class sizes, a highly interactive learning environment, direct involvement with corporate partners and a focus (across all the specifically designed units of study) on solving real-world business problems. Part of the course involves students working directly with a leading company on a real business project.
The degree was designed by the University of Sydney, with input from leading European business schools and a number of the world’s most renowned corporations. The contribution of business leaders in the design of this course cannot be underestimated. It was built on a foundation of the key characteristics employers are seeking in tomorrow’s business leaders.

Study plan
The Master of Management requires the completion of 10 units of study (60 credit points) comprising :
(i) nine core units of study (54 credit points), including a two unit business project (12 credit points); and
(ii) a capstone unit of study (six credit points).

The capstone unit is completed in a student’s final enrolment session MMGT6100 Advanced Management Applications.
Progression rules
The core and business project units are completed in a prescribed sequence as set out in the Business School handbook. The business project is designed to be completed over a five to seven week period and will be offered in intensive mode during Summer, Winter and the first half of the first semester.
Capstone experience
The capstone experience in the Master of Management is a business project which comprises two units of study, designed to provide students with a real life learning experience and to provide assurance of learning for the program as a whole. Students will work in small groups of four or five and partner with a real organisation over a six week period to provide solutions to a real business problem identified in consultation with the partner organisations. Projects will range from social entrepreneurship programs, where students work with community groups and NGOs, through to consultancy projects for large multinational corporations.

Admission
Admission requirements
A successful applicant for admission to the Master of Management will hold the equivalent of an Australian bachelor's degree, graduate diploma/certificate from a recognised tertiary institution with a minimum credit (65 per cent) average; and attend a selection interview. Potential candidates must also submit a CV and statement of motivation.
Qualifications awarded outside Australia can also be used for admission but equivalencies and entry requirements are determined based on the country, institution and qualification. You can find a guideline of the most common international entry requirements at

Domestic students
Indicative postgraduate student contribution amount
This student contribution amount for a Commonwealth Supported Place is an indication only of the fees that are payable by you in the calendar year you commence your course, commencing in 2013 for a standard annual full time load of 48 credit points (1.0 EFTSL). The exact student contribution that you pay will depend on the specific units of study in which you ultimately enrol. If you are a Commonwealth supported student and was enrolled in a University course before 1 January 2012 your student contribution may differ.
Annual review for postgraduate student contribution amount
Importantly, student contribution amounts are subject to annual review by the University, and are likely to increase each year of your period of study (subject to a Commonwealth specified cap), effective at the start of each calendar year.
Postgraduate Domestic Tuition Fee
This 2013, tuition fee for a domestic postgraduate student represents the fee that is payable by you in the calendar year you commence your course, commencing in 2012 for a standard annual full time load of 48 credit points (1.0 EFTSL). If your study load is more or less than the 1.0 EFTSL your fee will differ.

Importantly, tuition fees are subject to annual review by the University, and are likely to increase each year of your period of study, effective at the start of each calendar year.
Additional incidental fees
For some courses there are incidental fees additional to the student contribution and/or course fee. Some of those fees are significant, for example, faculty-specific materials, tools, protected clothing and equipment. In addition to the fees indicated here for the course of study, International Students studying on an Australian Student Visa must have appropriate health insurance for the duration of their studies on a Student Visa through an approved provider of the Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) scheme. This is a requirement of the Australian Government, unless otherwise exempted by the Government.
