What you’ll study
The Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Animal and Veterinary Bioscience) is an undergraduate coursework degree that will develop your skills in applied animal health and disease; nutrition and feed technology; reproduction and assisted reproductive technologies; behaviour and welfare science; genetics and biotechnology through industry-oriented education.
You will study core units to gain essential knowledge in the fundamental sciences. You will then complete the Animal and Veterinary Bioscience stream comprising core and placement units within an embedded program and major. Additionally, you will complete units from the Open Learning Environment and any elective units as needed to make up the required credit points for the course.
In the final year of your degree, you will undertake advanced coursework where you will enhance your leadership, critical thinking and problem-solving skills and increase your employment prospects. You will undertake challenging coursework and a substantial real-world project individually or in collaboration with other students.
If you would like to study honours and meet the relevant admissions requirements, you will be able to apply for an appended honours degree after completing three years of undergraduate study.
