Overview

Students who are enrolled at another tertiary institution may apply to undertake one or more units of study (subjects) at the University of Sydney Business School to be credited towards their degree.

Many units listed in the University of Sydney Business School (Postgraduate) Handbook are open to cross-institutional applicants, pending departmental approval.

You must apply to the University of Sydney as well as to your home institution in order to do cross-institutional study.

Please Note. All SMBA coded units of study are not available for selection for Cross-Institutional study.

How to apply

Applications are made directly to the University and assessed by the Business School. You must obtain permission from your home institution in order to do cross-institutional study.

Standard closing dates:

Semester 1 - 31 January of the same year.

Semester 2 - 15 July of the same year.

Late applications may be considered subject to availability of places. We strongly encourage applicants to apply as early as possible, offers are made on a rolling basis and places are limited. Separate scholarship deadlines apply - check the scholarships website for details.

Starting date

Semester 1 (February) and Semester 2 (August)

You must be enrolled for the current academic year in an accredited postgraduate course of study, normally in the business, commerce, marketing and management, at another institution. Your admission to a unit or units of study at the University of Sydney is subject to approval, which may include the fulfilment of prerequisites in previous study or your professional experience and availability.

Overseas applicants may apply: (i) directly to the University, or (ii) through a University overseas representative (education agent).
