Agribusiness
UNDERGRADUATE MAJOR
Agribusiness includes all the various businesses involved in food and fibre production, including farming, seed supply, agrichemicals, farm machinery, wholesale and distribution, processing, marketing, and retail sales.
Study plan
First year students undertake required junior units of study in accounting and either information systems, commercial law or human resource management. Second and third year students complete a unit of study in agricultural economics and either 12 credit points (cp) in elective information systems or 18cp in elective industrial relations and human resource management subjects. Fourth year students complete more specialised study at a senior level in agricultural economics.
Graduate opportunities
Graduates in agribusiness are highly sought after and gain employment in marketing, management and research roles in agribusiness organisations. They find employment with industries associated with the supply chain of the Agribusiness industry, including consultants, and in marketing organisations.
