Bachelor of Commerce
Our Bachelor of Commerce degree is designed in consultation with industry leaders, graduate recruiters, current students and alumni. Core units of study have been designed to progressively develop your knowledge and skills, to help you transition from school to university and then into the world of business with confidence.
The Business School’s Bachelor of Commerce program offers its students a strong commercial grounding in the main areas of business, preparing you for a career in virtually any field, anywhere in the world. It also offers you the flexibility to combine speciality study in a wide range of majors, allowing you to tailor your degree to suit your career aspirations and help you to get where you want to go.
Our Bachelor of Commerce program gives you exposure to practical business cases and experiences, drawn from our wide network of Australian and international business partners, and taught by some of the most dedicated and experienced educators in the world.
We offer students an opportunity to work for a leading firm, through our Industry Placement Program. Students are encouraged to incorporate either an exchange program or semester of independent study abroad into their degree.
The three-year full-time (or equivalent part-time) Bachelor of Commerce will prepare you for a successful career in business. The program combines theory with practice to teach you how businesses operate and gives you the analytical, technical, and practical skills to apply your knowledge effectively in the business world. Our core units will provide you with grounding in areas such as accounting, economics and business statistics.
Building on this foundation, you can choose up to two majors. You might choose to focus your study to pursue a particular professional qualification, or to explore many different areas to gain a broad and versatile business education.
In addition to a major in the Business School, you can choose a major or electives from many of the University’s other faculties. This gives you the opportunity to follow other interests or gain skills in areas that will benefit your career in business. For example, you might choose to enhance your employment prospects by learning a language through the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
