Health Sciences

Level: Undergraduate

The number of health industry professionals has increased by more than 40 percent in the past decade. The health sector is looking for people like you, with the skills and dedication to lead these changes and make a real difference to the future of health care in Australia and abroad.

The Bachelor of Health Sciences focuses on the 'big picture' of health. It develops leaders in health education, research, policy, management and advocacy, through examining the political, social, environmental, economic and international context of health. This course is ideal for those who want to work in health care, and are still exploring the many career options open to them. Successful graduates of the course are eligible to apply for one of our graduate entry master's courses, which upon completion provide qualification to practice as a specialised health professional in their chosen field.

Alternatively, if you already know which health profession you would like to specialise in, our dynamic Bachelor of Applied Science program will provide you with both the academic and professional training to commence your clinical career. The program may be undertaken in the areas of diagnostic radiography, exercise and sport science, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, or speech pathology.

High-achieving applicants may be eligible to undertake the combined Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise and Sport Science) and Master of Nutrition and Dietetics.

The Bachelor of Applied Science program incorporates extensive clinical and professional fieldwork opportunities, providing hands-on experience with real clients in a supervised environment. This allows you to combine the academic components of the course with the practical abilities required of your chosen profession.
