Bachelor of Veterinary Science

Level: Undergraduate

The Bachelor of Veterinary Science is an exciting, innovative five-year program providing you with the knowledge, practical and generic skills required to pursue many career options as veterinary scientists participating in the care and welfare of animals.

You will use examples of clinical cases and actual problems in veterinary practice to achieve an integrated approach to learning, so at each step of the Bachelor of Veterinary Science theory and knowledge are made relevant to veterinary practice. Rather than studying a topic in isolation, you will be shown the relevance of information to a range of related disciplines in veterinary science. The final year of the course is dedicated to participating in practice-based activities and the management and care of patients, facilitating the transition into veterinary practice, and providing new graduates with confidence and professional competence.

As a graduate you will be eligible for registration in all Australian states. The course is also recognised internationally by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (UK) and is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).

The Bachelor of Veterinary Science ensures students have a wide knowledge of the principles associated with every aspect of health and disease in animals both domestic and native. The program facilitates the transition into veterinary practice and provides new graduates with the confidence and professional competence needed in the workplace.
