Sydney Law School is an acknowledged leader in the field of international law. Its staff and expertise are respected the world over. The postgraduate program in ternational law extends across the spectrum of scholarship in the field and is informed by the Sydney Centre for International Law [link], a leading centre of research, teaching and practice in international law in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
SCIL promotes public debate on international legal issues, advises governments and non-government organisations, and in recent years has worked in development programs in Nepal, Iraq and the Philippines. It actively collaborates with centres of international research excellence elsewhere, with strong links to many major law schools in the Asia-Pacific and internationally. The Centre also provides opportunities for students, through research supervision, internships and editorial positions and hosts a series of free public seminars on cutting edge issues in international law.
