Master of Clinical Trials Practice

This new and innovative postgraduate program in clinical trials practice is designed to meet the educational needs of registered nurses, other health care professionals and biomedical scientists seeking to advance their careers in clinical trials.
The Clinical Trials Practice program is offered at masters degree, graduate diploma and graduate certificate levels. The program covers key areas of clinical trials, including Foundations in Clinical Trials, Clinical Trials Measurement and Analysis, Research in Nursing and Health Care, Clinical Trials in Practice and Trial Design and Methods.
Students will be introduced to principles of clinical trial project management, including the management of patient recruitment and follow up, the monitoring of study progress, clinical trial budgeting and funding. Students will also explore the ethical and legal framework which governs clinical trials including ethics approval, informing patients, and obtaining consent in the context of clinical trials and various patient populations.
Students also have the opportunity to undertake two electives offered by Sydney Nursing School as well as other University of Sydney faculties, including Sydney Medical School.
