Graduate Certificate in Commerce

The Sydney Graduate Certificate in Commerce is designed for those who want to undertake a short academic training course for career reasons, or to sample further study to assess whether a Graduate Diploma in Commerce or Master of Commerce program would be suitable for them.

A graduate certificate is a good entry point for students wanting to consolidate their understanding of Commerce. In most circumstances, you can choose to progress to the graduate diploma or master’s course in Commerce on successful completion of the graduate certificate.

Further course information

Study plan

The Graduate Certificate in Commerce requires the completion 24 credit points comprising:
(i) a core unit of study;
(ii) foundational units of study; and/or
(ii) an elective unit of study.

All students must enrol in the core unit of study: BUSS5000 Critical Thinking in Business. The two or three foundational units of study are selected from a list of Commerce foundational units. Students completing two foundational units complete one elective unit from the Commerce specialisation subject areas listing under the Master of Commerce (excluding foundational units).

Graduate opportunities

Specialist in focus while covering a broad range of study, the Commerce courses develop the advanced skills and knowledge required for a high-level position in industry, commerce and government. Career opportunities include positions in accounting, marketing or other specialist fields, as well as roles in a variety of business fields.

Postgraduate Domestic Tuition Fee

This 2013, tuition fee for a domestic postgraduate student represents the fee that is payable by you in the calendar year you commence your course, commencing in 2012 for a standard annual full time load of 48 credit points (1.0 EFTSL). If your study load is more or less than the 1.0 EFTSL your fee will differ.

Additional incidental fees
