Level: Postgraduate coursework
The Pain Management program at Sydney Medical School explores the problem of pain within a multidisciplinary team framework to investigate the extent of the problem in the community. The program aims to deliver advanced education in pain management by providing clinically relevant teaching that helps students expand their knowledge of the basic sciences, concepts and procedures of pain assessment and management. The program is not a pathway to a specialist qualification. If you are going to undertake the fellowship exam of the Faculty of Pain Medicine this program is an excellent preparation for you.
The program is offered at graduate certificate, graduate diploma and master's degree level. The Master of Medicine (Pain Management) is open to applicants who hold a medical qualification (MBBS). The Master of Science in Medicine (Pain Management) is open to applicants who hold a non-medical qualification. The two master's degrees offer the same course of study.
