Chinese 1B (For Beginners) (CHNS1102)
UNIT OF STUDY
This unit is a continuation of Chinese 1A. Emphasis will be on grammar patterns that facilitate speaking and reading skills. On completion, students should have a good grasp of common grammatical patterns and be able to communicate with Chinese native speakers in daily contexts.

1x1hr lecture/week, 3x1hr tutorials/week
Classwork (equivalent to 100wd) (10%), 5x on-line or individual learning assignments (30 minutes each) (20%), 2x Oral Presentations (3 minutes each) (40%), 2x 1.5hr writing projects (30%)

Prerequisites and assumed knowledge
One semester of Chinese at introductory level
Study this unit outside a degree
If you wish to undertake one or more units of study (subjects) for your own interest but not towards a degree, you may enrol in single units as a non-award student.
If you are from another Australian tertiary institution you may be permitted to underake cross-institutional study in one or more units of study at the University of Sydney.
