The Honours program in Classics consists of:1. a thesis written under the supervision of one or more members of academic staff2. two seminars that meet weekly for three hours for one semester3. one unseen exam in both Greek and Latin.The thesis should be of 15,000 words in length. Each seminar requires 6,000 words of written work or it equivalent.The thesis is worth 45% of the final Honours mark, each of the seminars is worth 22.5% and the unseen exam is worth 10%.The following seminars are on offer in 2013:Classics of Greek Literature (Prof Peter Wilson)Greek Philosophical Texts (Prof Rick Benitez)Latin Imperial Poetry (Dr Paul Roche)Latin Republican Prose (Dr Frances Muecke)For more information, contact Dr Paul Roche, Honours coordinator.
