The course covers a review of relevant aspects of oral biology including bone, mucosa, salivary glands and tooth development.Oral pathology is introduced by investigating the clinico-pathological features of soft and hard tissue pathoses including inflammatory and repair processes, hamartomas, mucosal and salivary gland diseases, fibro-osseous lesions, benign and malignant non-odontogenic and odontogenic neoplasms, cysts of the jaws and soft tissues of the head and neck.Weekly departmental review of the current histopathology cases, particularly biopsies of patients undertaken or seen in the Oral Medicine clinics, or Head and Neck oncology clinics.
