Econometrics Honours A (ECMT4101)


Honours is an intensive year-long program of advanced study based around research. Honours is undertaken after successful completion of a Bachelor degree and where the overall mark is a minimum credit average (70%). Entry into Honours is selective and work at this level is challenging. Honours is available in most subjects areas taught in the Faculty, and which are listed under Tables A and B in the Handbook. Students will complete a thesis and coursework seminars throughout the year. Unit of study rules

Prerequisites and assumed knowledge

Students who want to take honours in Econometrics have to obtain a distinction average or better in ECMT3110 and ECMT3120, obtain a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 65 in all units of study in the degree, Students who want to take honours in Econometrics have to: (i) qualify for a major in Econometrics; obtain a WAM of at least 75 in the senior units of study in the ECMT major. Non-award/non-degree study

If you wish to undertake one or more units of study (subjects) for your own interest but not towards a degree, you may enrol in single units as a non-award student.

Cross-institutional study

If you are from another Australian tertiary institution you may be permitted to underake cross-institutional study in one or more units of study at the University of Sydney.
