Classroom Issues for Koori Kids (EDMT5002)
UNIT OF STUDY
This special interest unit focuses on key elements of Aboriginal education. In particular the unit addresses the areas of policy, classroom practice and the role of the Aboriginal Community in our schools. It firmly emphasises the importance of consultation and ongoing liaison with communities and assists students in identifying key stakeholders in Indigenous education. This unit will also examine the NSW Department of Education and Communities (DEC) Aboriginal Education and Training Policy (2008) and discuss how its implementation will improve the educational outcomes for all students.
