Introduction to Teaching and Learning

This unit of study provides an introduction to teaching and learning through the framework of the instructional core. Three observation visits to schools in the first half of the semester provide the primary data from which students conduct an investigation into the relationship between teacher's pedagogy, classrooms tasks and student learning. In the second half of the semester, students examine the relationship between social inclusion and pedagogy via a critical analysis of educational policy and research in this area.
