This unit of study fosters students' development of knowledge and skills around the provision of teaching and learning environments which promote positive social interactions, respect for social justice and reflect the diversity of the participants within early childhood settings and the broader community. The unit equips students with the ability to guide young children's understanding and appreciation of the socially and culturally rich world around them in developmentally appropriate ways and to help them understand their membership, role and value as a member of a family, community, nation and world.
