Creative Arts in Early Childhood (EDMT5555)

This unit of study assists students to explore their own creativity and imagination alongside developing knowledge and skills in the Creative Arts for children in the birth to five age group. There is a strong emphasis on play and exploring the imagination through music, visual arts, drama and dance. Observing and assessing young children's spontaneous play through immersion in the Creative Arts is an important feature of this unit. The unit also emphasises the centrality of providing rich Creative Arts experiences in early childhood settings.
