Professional Studies 2 (Options) (EDMT5600)


This unit explores the language, literacy and numeracy demands of different subject areas and how to support students' language, literacy and numeracy development. It looks at strategies for moving all students from everyday to academic school language with a particular focus on EALD learners. In every school in NSW there are students who are learning English as an additional language or dialect (EALD). These students may be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island backgrounds, from bilingual/ bicultural backgrounds, refugee, migrant or international students.
