Special Interest Early Childhood 2 (EDMT6003)


Early Childhood professionals act in various teaching and leadership capacities in a range of settings and have an obligation to promote and support respectful, life-enhancing relationships with children, families, other staff and community members to foster children's development and learning. One way to build this capacity in early childhood educators is to develop their observational and conceptualizing skills as researchers into their own practice. This unit builds on developing understandings of professional research gained in Early Childhood Special Interest 1 to explore professional research approaches suitable for early childhood settings, especially action research. This work paves the way the Early Childhood Professional Learning Project EDMT6010 that is implemented in conjunction with the Internship in the final semester of the course.
