This unit outlines key management and leadership issues involved in organising and sustaining early childhood services, the social and political context within which services operate as well as the legal and other regulatory responsibilities of centre based supervisors. It focuses on developing the skills needed by early childhood educators to become competent leaders and advocates for quality in the early childhood field, to encourage team building, enthusiasm, good communication and harmonious work environments and to keep up to date with relevant policy, regulatory and quality assurance regimes, and mandatory management, industrial and OH&S practices.
