Textes et Société 1: Identités en France (FRNC2625)


This unit is required for the major in the intermediate language stream. We will study the development of French national and cultural identity in modern times, with an emphasis on the social transformations France has undergone in the twentieth century and the political challenges it confronts in redefining its role in Europe and the world. The unit will also develop reading, analytical and critical skills through close study of a variety of authentic texts.
