Science,Technology and Security

GOVT2618

This interdisciplinary unit introduces upper-year undergraduate students to the complex relationships between modern science, advanced technology, and traditional as well as non-traditional aspects of international security. It examines how science and technology affect security, and conversely, how security concerns influence the development of science and technology. Using different theories that explain these relationships, this unit will consider a wide range of issues, including nuclear weapons, the revolution in military affairs, cyber security, and singularity studies, among other topics.
