Taking a fresh perspective on Australia's history by focusing on everyday life, we question our assumptions that Australia was settled by people not that different from ourselves. Considering the economic, social and cultural impact of colonization and exploring the contested aims of diverse groups within this emerging society, we will discover why colonial Australia was stranger and more fascinating than you ever imagined.
