Studio Seminar/Research Paper A (THAP4241)

UNIT OF STUDY

This unit of study comprises supervised and independent study focused on the delivery of the honours seminar and the first draft of the research paper. The Seminar component is a presentation of a student's project or research topic. Its aim is to help the development of  research paper. This will be achieved partly through the student's own efforts in preparing the seminar and partly by the discussion it generates. The Seminar presents ideas and speculations for feedback; the Research Paper refines and develops these in a more formal structure. Content should clearly evolve out of and produce material and information that contribute towards the student's studio practice. The unit of study offers an opportunity to show work in progress and to discuss ideas with other members of the group. Regular meetings with the student's supervisor provide advice and feedback.
