Diction for Performance 3 (VSAO4647)
UNIT OF STUDY
In this unit the students will refine the specialist language needs of singers, with the objective of students achieving a professional command of diction in all major languages of classical song repertoire. On completion of this unit students should be able to deliver a professional delivery of the text in more demanding repertoire in a fluent, accurate and expressive performance of the sung text.

4 classes 2 hours/wk Practical Work
Students are required to pass all assessment tasks. Continuous assessment (20%), examination (20%), diction recital (60%). At the end of the semester, students will perform. The objective is to demonstrate their ability to assimilate all knowledge accumulated throughout the course, and to understand the literary text with an emphasis on pronunciation and interpretation.
