Residential colleges

Our campus colleges were among the first in Australia
Rich in heritage and tradition, every college offers a supportive living experience that will allow you to excel in your studies and enjoy a busy social calendar.

Why college?

If you are moving out of home for the first time, colleges are a great way to make the transition to independence as they offer three catered meals a day, laundry services and a strong support network.

The college environment offers much more than accommodation. You’ll be encouraged to develop social, sporting and academic skills, with many colleges acknowledging their top performers with generous scholarships and prizes.

Formal college dinners take place regularly, featuring keynote addresses from alumni and special guests.

Social events are run by both the college and student-run committees, giving you an opportunity to gain experience in community leadership.

Friendly rivalry

Inter-college games, or ‘InterCol’, encourage a healthy rivalry between colleges. Whether you love music, theatre, sport or visual arts, you’ll have a chance to develop your skills and be recognised in one of the four annual cups that make up the InterCol program.

In the process of getting to know other residents, you’re likely to build friendships that last a lifetime. You may also find that connections made at college stand you in good stead throughout your professional career.

Postgraduate options

There are two postgraduate college residences on campus (Sancta Sophia's Graduate House and St Paul's Graduate House), where graduate students and academics can live and learn in a mutually supportive, co-educational residential environment.
