Before you enrol

Before you start your online enrolment you need to:

  • accept your offer
  • go through the enrolment checklist below
  • activate your UniKey and Sydney Mail account
  • plan your studies by choosing your subjects

Accept your offer

You need to accept your offer before you begin to enrol.

University Admissions Centre (UAC) applicants
When you (or your agent) receive an offer from the University of Sydney, you can accept it by logging into Sydney Student with your username and password (go to 'My applications', then 'Confirm your place').

Direct applicants
When you (or your agent) receive an offer from the University of Sydney, you can accept it by logging into Sydney Student with your username and password (go to 'My applications', then 'Respond to offer', then 'Accept and continue').

Your phone numbers

 

The name and phone number of a person we can contact in the case of an emergency.

 

Your Tax File Number (TFN)

If you are an Australian citizen or permanent humanitarian visa holder, you will need to provide a TFN to request any Commonwealth assistance loans.

If you don’t already have a TFN, you will need to apply for one as soon as possible and provide a certificate of application for a TFN to the Student Centre. For more information, contact the Australian Taxation Office.

 

  

Supporting documents

If any of your details have changed since you first applied to the University, for example, your name or residency, you need to update these when you enrol. Make sure you have the appropriate supporting documents.

 

Address for international students

If you are an international student, you will need to provide your address in Australia. This includes your full street address and postcode.

If you don’t have your Australian address yet, you can still enrol but please make sure you provide it within seven days of your arrival in Australia. You can do this through MyUni once you have enrolled.

It's important to know that you won't be able to change your subject choices once you have enrolled online.

 

Faculty-specific information

Check if your faculty has any specific requirements or advice before you enrol.

 

Activate your UniKey and Sydney Mail email account

Your UniKey is your user name for logging into online services at the University.

Your Sydney Mail account is your University student email address. The University will send official notices to this address.

When enrolment opens, we will email you instructions for how to activate your UniKey and Sydney Mail email account.

Please contact the enrolment support team if you have not received these instructions within 48 hours of accepting your offer and enrolment is open for your course.
