International Student Orientation
Welcome to the University of Sydney! The University has many important and useful programs for newly arriving students. Our programs will help you adjust and make a smooth transition to your new environment.
During sessions, we will answer any questions you have about Sydney and the University. You will also have the chance to meet our staff, other students and enjoy social activities. There are different sessions you should attend depending on the type of study you are undertaking.
If you are here to study for six or twelve months only and you are taking your academic credit back to your home university, you are a Study Abroad or Exchange Student (STABEX). If you will complete a full degree at the University of Sydney you are an International Full Degree Student.
STABEX students are encouraged to attend:
- the Study Abroad and Exchange Welcome and Enrolment
- the activities arranged by University of Sydney Union.
Full Degree Students are encouraged to attend:
- the Full Degree (undergraduate or postgraduate) Welcome
- an International Student Arrival Information Session
- your faculty welcome
- the activities arranged by University of Sydney Union.
Postgraduate Full Degree students should also attend the Postgraduate Welcome and Orientation.
