Rural students support

Congratulations on joining our community.

You’re about to start a very exciting journey and will most likely encounter significant changes to where you live, how you study, the people that you socialise with, and many other aspects of your life.

The University can help you make a smooth transition into university life. Here are some resources you may find helpful.

Where will I live?

There are a number of options available to you. If you haven’t found somewhere to live already, we recommend that you start looking now. Places fill up quickly on and around campus, but we have several resources that can help you find a new home. Have a look at the Student Accommodation Services page more information.

Find out what it’s like living in Sydney and what it might cost.

Check out the adjusting to uni page, to ensure you have done the essentials prior to starting uni.

To get a taste of what student life might be like, check out our rural student profiles on the student life page.

If your parents are concerned about you moving out, our Parents page will help put their minds at ease. They may also want to take a look at the parent information on the CAPS website.
