Biographical details
Munira Xaymardan is a lecture in the Faculty of dentistry and Theme Head of Life Sciences unit of study. Dr. Xaymardan graduated from the Dental Faculty of Shanghai Jiao Tong (former 2nd Medical) University. She completed Ph.D. program at the University of Sydney and has successful postdoctoral careers at the Cornell University (USA) and university of Toronto (Canada).

Research interests
Dr. Xaymardan’s research interest has been in the areas of wound healing, tissue specific and circulating stem cells and their role in the adult muscle regeneration. Particularly, she has been interested in the role of the platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha in the cardiac homeostasis, injury and more recently in the cardiac development.
