Two days of endodontics….attend both….or just one day!

These two days are designed to be taken as a one- or two-part program….both are designed to be stand alone components of a larger two part endodontic experience.

Day one is designed for those who would like an introduction to three well established rotary systems and will introduce you to, or refresh your knowledge of, three popular rotary methods of preparation AND go through the basics of sound endodontic practice as it applies to the use of rotary techniques.

Day two is for those with some experience and knowledge of rotary preparation systems. This knowledge will be built-on and expanded by your experience of three totally new and innovative systems which are now on the market.

Because of this it is recommended, but of course not obligatory, that those attending the second day will have a “grip” on rotaries as there will be a large amount of pre-supposed knowledge which may leave rotary “newbies” a bit “at sea”!

During the first day we will refresh your memory on access cavities. …..and the essentiality of straight line access, the necessity of isolation, the importance of medicaments and irrigation and introduce you to, or sharpen your knowledge of, the Profile, Mtwo and Bio_race systems. The use of several different film holders….essential for reliable and reproducible endodontic radiography, will be shown and explained. Also on this second day we will introduce attendees to some rather new technology in irrigation, preparing calcified canals and disposable instruments.

As well as comprehensive and interesting presentations, there will be ample time to use these three systems in the “state of the art” University Simulation clinic utilizing both plastic blocks and extracted teeth ( please bring at least 5 accessed multi-rooted teeth to make the most of this session).

The second day is designed to show how rotary systems can be used in more difficult cases (such as calcified and larger diameter canals) and will introduce you to file systems (both hand and rotary) that are designed for these specific purposes.

Some time will also be spent on filling the larger diameter canal system using “hot” filling techniques. Following on from this you will be introduced to three very new systems; Wave-one, Reciproc and Self Adjusting File.

As in the previous day’s program ample time will be spent using these file systems on plastic blocks and extracted teeth (remember to bring at least 5 accessed multi-rooted teeth on which to work!).
