Orthodontics 3: course overview

This course is designed for participants who have completed Orthodontics II. This extends registrants experience within the Orthodontics department for a further 12 months.

Participants attend a half-day each month and are encouraged to join the morning lecture sessions scheduled for Orthodontics II. The course presents an opportunity for participants to complete the active treatment of patients from Orthodontics II.

  • To continue the active treatment of patients from the Orthodontics 2 program
  • Attend seminars of Orthodontics 2

Orthodontics 3: learning objectives

  • Obtain clinical skills to perform orthodontic finishing of Class 1 mild crowding cases

Orthodontics 3: learning outcomes

  • Be able to perform continuous orthodontic care for Class 1 crowding patients from diagnosis to finishing
  • Obtain confidence in performing treatment in simple orthodontic problems

1:30 - 4:30pm - includes lunch.

Registrants are encouraged to attend the morning sessions of Orthodontics II each day (from 9:00am)

Earlybird Fee - $11,900 (Must  be paid in full by 19 January 2018)

Commitment required

Attendance at all clinical sessions is required for successful completion of the Orthodontics III course.

Prerequisites:

Completion of Orthodontics I & II courses.

To be eligible for enrolment in Orthodontics III the candidate must satisfy the entrance criteria.

Mandatory requirements including vaccination information:

In order to comply with NSW Department of Health Policy directives to be able to treat patients within a public hospital, there is a mandatory requirement for registrants to supply

  1. Current valid Dental Board of Australia certificate of registration;
  2. 100 point ID check;
  3. Current professional indemnity insurance certificate (AUS states / NZ); and
  4. National Police Certificate (online application form);
  5. NSW Health Vaccination Record Card (completed by the registrants’ GP);
  6. NSW Health Form 1 (new recruit undertaking/declaration; and
  7. NSW Health Form 2 - TB Assessment Tool.
