Following a successful pilot, the University of Sydney has become a Strategic Partner of the Higher Education Academy (HEA). The University is now working towards accreditation of some of its professional learning programs – if successful, these can be offered from February 2018.

Principal Fellows of the Higher Education Academy (left to right): Professor Michelle Lincoln, Professor Pauline Ross, Professor Manju Sharma, and Professor David Lowe, with Professor Pip Pattison, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education).

If you wish to apply for Fellowship of the HEA, the application fee is half price for all University of Sydney staff, academic and professional. Or you may prefer to wait until 2018, when we are likely to have some funded places available. Please contact Amani Bell ([email protected]) or Jessica Frawley ([email protected]) for further information.

Staff are also able to access discounts for HEA events and staff development opportunities. Some of these events are based in the UK, such as the Academic Leadership Programme, a one week intensive which is now available with a £900 saving. Other events and programs are available online, such as:

The HEA is also offering an additional 15% discount for all bookings made before 15 September 2017. The wide-ranging portfolio of activity covers the full spectrum of an academic career, from those new to teaching to aspiring Vice-Chancellors. Further details can be found here.
