About the CoCo Research Centre
The CoCo Research Centre was created at the University of Sydney in 2003. Its mission is to contribute to knowledge of the learning sciences in order to discover the way in which innovative learning technologies and pedagogical approaches can enhance formal and informal learning.
On the January 1, 2016, the University combined CoCo with the Sciences and Technologies of Learning (STL) research network to form a new Centre for Research on Learning and Innovation (CRLI) with the aim of providing a focus for the university’s research on learning and innovation.
The CLRI has strong roots in education, with substantial involvement from engineering and information technology, science, health sciences and medicine. The CLRI's foundation co-directors are Professor Peter Reimann and Professor Peter Goodyear, both formerly co-directors of CoCo.
