Thesis title: Formative assessment and its use in teacher education: A comparative study of Australia and Vietnam

Thesis abstract:

Formative assessment or classroom assessment plays an important role in teaching and learning in order to gain high quality in training for each university. The research is designed to focus on proving the necessity and impact of formative assessment in teaching and studying for tertiary education; and developing an effective model of formative assessment by surveying students and teachers perception and comparison among case studies in Australia and in Vietnam. In that sense, the research aims at clarifying the relationship between formative assessment and students’ achievement and engagement and refine the impact of formative assessment to teaching and learning practices. Moreover, the role of students and teachers are extremely recognized to enhance students’ involvement and performance.
