Thesis title: Youth Offending: What' s the Problem Represented to be? A Post-Structuralist Study of Juvenile Justice Policy Documents

Supervisors: Ruth PHILLIPS , Susan GOODWIN

Thesis abstract:

This research draws on a poststructuralist policy analysis tool, developed by Carol Bacchi, to provide an analysis of the relationship between power and knowledge and between discourse and subjectivity in the youth offending field. The analysis of ‘social texts’ will allow the study to focus on discursive formations, and how they relate to the power/knowledge nexus that Foucault refers to.
