Biographical details

I have recently joined The University of Sydney as Director of Field Education and Lecturer in the Sydney School of Education and Social Work. Prior to this I worked for 23 years as a social work practitioner and services coordinator, primarily in the women’s services sector addressing violence against women, but also in health (multi-disciplinary teams), as well as child and family services. In the past ten years I have been involved with teaching and researching in tertiary education.

My research interests are aligned to my personal commitments to social justice issues and include social policy analysis, critical gerontology and the application of critical theoretical perspectives to inform social work practice.
