Sydney School of Education and Social Work Alumni
The Sydney School of Education and Social Work graduates are leaders in their fields, not just in education but in areas including literature, politics, journalism, health, and sport.
In January 2003, the school was formed by the amalgamation of two schools from the former Sydney School of Education with the School of Social Work and Policy Studies from the Faculty of Arts. In January 2006, the component schools were dissolved, bringing even closer collaboration as a one-school organisational unit.
In 2010 we celebrated 70 years of Social Work and 100 years of Education at the University of Sydney and alumni and friends of the school celebrated an ongoing relationship and their experiences of their time studying Education or Social Work at Australia's first university. The rewards of being an integral part of the significant network of the University of Sydney add to a rich personal and professional life.
The school’s Alumni & Friends network continues to grow through dedicated ESW events, as well as our recently re-launched ESW Alumni eNewsletter, Connections, and opportunities to engage with the University's alumni events including its annual Alumni Awards. By being a part of this community you can meet fellow graduates, reconnect with classmates, take part in casual social gatherings, attend professionally-relevant events and make the most of networking opportunities.
