Workshop summary

This practical workshop aims to provide participants with an understanding of some more advanced techniques and tools for developing survey questionnaires. The workshop will have three parts, one hour each:

  • improving questionnaire designs using cognitive interviewing technique

  • choosing correct question types and creating online surveys using "SurveyMonkey"

  • participants work individually and discuss issues related to the design of their questionnaires.
Prerequisites

This workshop is designed for those who are already familiar with basic survey techniques and want to learn to create more robust survey instruments.

To get the most of this workshop please bring a draft of your survey questions.


Workshop 2: essentials of factor and scale analysis

Workshop summary

This practical workshop aims to provide participants with an essential understanding and skills for doing factor and scale analysis with SPSS. The workshop will have three parts, one hour each:

  • introduction to exploratory factor analysis

  • introduction to scale analysis

  • participants individual work on their datasets and discussion of their individual issues.
Prerequisites

This workshop is designed for those who already have collected their survey data and need to analyse them using factor and scale analyses.
