Induction program for new HDR students

Semester One 2014

Every semester, the school arranges an induction program which all students enrolling in PhD, EdD, DSW, MPhil, MEd(Research) degrees are encouraged to attend.

This semester, for the first time, we will be holding a joint Division of Humanities and Social Sciences (Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, Education and Social Work, and Law) Orientation and Induction Day.

This event will introduce you to a range of strategies and resources for successfully completing higher degree research at the University of Sydney. It will also give you some pointers about how to make the most of your experience as a higher degree student.

You will have the opportunity to hear from and speak with a range of people, including:

  • the Acting Director, Office of Doctoral Studies
  • representatives from the Sydney University Postgraduate Representative Association (SUPRA),
  • a representative from Research Integrity and Ethics Administration
  • the School Liaison Librarian from Fisher Library
  • research students in their second and third years, and
  • school academic research supervisors
