Working with theory in social research

This series of talks is aimed at beginning and established researchers interested in developing their understanding of research methods in the social sciences. Staff and research-higher-degree students from across the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences are warmly invited to attend.

Sessions in this module focus on the explanatory and analytical power of different theoretical perspectives, and the relationship between theory and the framing of research questions, methods and approaches

Sydney School of Education and Social Work provides research training support in the form of these and other free seminars and workshops as part of a process of promoting a vibrant research culture within the school and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, by engaging established and emerging researchers to talk about how they go about their own work with a focus on how they conceptualise and enact the research process.

Interested researchers are welcome to attend any – or all – sessions.
