Anita's exchange experience

I am going on a one semester exchange through the University of Sydney's Study Abroad and Exchange Program that offers short term, one semester and two semester exchange programs. More general information about the program can be found here: http://sydney.edu.au/current_students/student_exchange/index.shtml

I will be going on a one semester exchange to the University of California Berkeley, studying history subjects to complete my B. Arts. Information about the University can be found here: http://berkeley.edu/

I applied for the exchange program through the University of Sydney Study Abroad and Exchange Office. Firstly I applied and selected five university preferences, and this application was based on marks to date and suitability of my program to the universities I had selected. The University of Sydney Office then had to choose to nominate me to a University, upon which that university would have to choose whether to accept my application and offer me a place to study there. The University of California is unique as I had to preference 3 from the 10 campuses, and when my nomination went to the University of California they had to choose to offer me a position at one of the campuses.

Whilst on exchange I will be taking a full load of classes to satisfy the completion of my Arts degree and my history major.
