Evaluating group work

When considering evaluating group work you should think about the type of evaluation tool before the teaching process begins. The details should be determined as part of the initial development of the Unit of Study outline, and the process should be linked to the learning outcomes.

An evaluation checklist can help to determine:

  • who will be evaluated
  • who will be the evaluator
  • why you are undertaking the evaluation
  • what information needs to be collected
  • what form of evaluation will be most suitable
  • how and when it will be collected
  • how the information will be used.
