First class meeting

In the first class meeting, you should offer students:

  • clear goals and expectations of the activity. This includes a description of any tasks that require group work as well as any information that may be relevant to the workings of the groups themselves
  • ideas for how to deal with the task such as clues for dividing the expected work load
  • a timeline for completion of tasks
  • teambuilding and/or icebreaking activities to encourage group cohesion.
