Australian Learning and Teaching Council awards for university teaching
The Australian Government annually, through the Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) (known previously as the Carrick Institute), offers awards for university teaching. The University of Sydney's applications for these awards are coordinated by the Executive Officer (Quality Assurance) in the Office of the Deputy Provost.
There are five types of awards:
- Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning
- Awards for Programs that Enhance Learning
- Awards for Teaching Excellence
- Prime Minister's Award for Australian University Teacher of the Year
- Career Achievement Award
The ALTC also provides funding for award recipients to attend forums, colloquia and conferences.
