Assessment Guide
Developing comprehensible, concise and consistent assessment guidelines has been a chief focus of the Division of Learning and Teaching in recent years. Student feedback has helped guide us in this endeavour. All coursework assessment occurs in conformity with the policies of the Faculty of Education and Social Work. These policies are outlined in the Handbooks and are also available at the Faculty Policies website.
Please refer to this on matters such as:
- Marking and grading
- Questioning a mark
- Submitting an assignment
- Exams
- Seeking an extension
- Penalties for late submission of work
- Plagiarism and academic honesty
- Seeking special consideration
- Seeking leave of absence.
In addition, unit of study outlines (available via SUMO) provide detailed assessment information; these include assignment weighting, word count, marking criteria, for example. Please contact relevant unit of study coordinators to discuss individual unit assignments.
