Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ)
The Institute for Teaching and Learning (ITL) has responsibility for administering and reporting the Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ) for the University of Sydney. The CEQ is an annual survey, which is used by the Graduate Careers Council of Australia (GCCA) to gather information from graduates about their higher education experience. The Federal Government uses CEQ data to assess and plan for the needs of the higher education sector.
In May and October each year, the CEQ survey is mailed to the previous year's graduating students. Data collection is completed in September and the GCCA publishes the results in February the following year.
Like most Australian universities, The University of Sydney also analyses and reports on its own CEQ data for internal purposes. The University uses the CEQ results in two main ways: five of the ten University of Sydney, Teaching Performance Indicators are based on CEQ (plus additional) data; in addition, the CEQ results provide a wealth of data, which can inform curriculum development initiatives. Information on the employment and study destinations of graduates and specific information on graduates' perceptions of their teaching and learning experiences provide university teachers useful insights into the needs of future students.
As a graduand of the University of Sydney, we ask that you make time to consider and complete the CEQ. Your CEQ feedback has an important role in the future of the Sydney School of Education and Social Work; it helps determine Federal Government funding and supports program improvement.
