Review of School Funding – “The Gonski Review” Analysis and Response

21 February 2012

The review into Australian School Funding, commissioned by DEEWR in 2010 and chaired by David Gonski, is to be released this coming Monday, February 20, by the Federal Government. It is expected to present some wide ranging reforms to the education system and will be made available for final comment by the government before adoption of any recommendations.

To cut through the media circus and analyses, our own Craig Campbell and Helen Proctor, co-authors with Professor Geoff Sherington of School Choice: How parents negotiate the new school market in Australia (2009), will lead a discussion and analysis of salient issues. This is an open-style forum aimed to inform, as well as generate discussion. Those interested in developing a detailed collective response following the discussion are invited to discuss with Craig and Helen.
